SC Festival of Stars

Welcome to

 HOME OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA FESTIVAL OF STARS!

Ninety Six is a small town in Greenwood County, South Carolina that played a significant role in the South during the American Revolution, being the first land battle of the South. The NPS Ninety Six Star Fort Battle Site holds two American Revolutionary war records. Less than two miles from our present-day town during a 28 day siege, Patriots loss their lives securing our freedom. There is no better place then at Ninety Six,  Home of National Historic Star Fort, to honor our Independence those brave men and women died defending!

Known as the SC FESTIVAL OF STARS,  this two day Independence Celebration and Fireworks show is held annually on the Friday night and Saturday before the 4th of July each year!  In 2014 it will be held on Friday Night June 27th and all day Saturday June 28th.
Our Concert in the Park held on Friday night will feature the Swinging Medallions from 6 pm-9 pm. Saturday will feature The Night Affair, Bless Yer Heart, Clay Page Band, Fred Engler and the Troubleshooters, Chris Turner and patriotic music.
 
During the day of the festival, the aroma of delicious Festival foods such as delicious BBQ, Hot Dogs, Cotton Candy, Turkey legs and so much more fill the air! Come enjoy all the days events and of course the LIVE music!
 
 There are Auto/Truck and Motorcycle contests, a Main Street Parade, Food Eating contests, Amusement Rides, displays by Highway Patrol, SC Forestry Fire Wise Unit, DNR Fishing and Shooting Simulator, Greenwood County Sheriffs Department, home made crafts and craft vendors and so much more.
 Anyone and everyone can participate in something!

Our town opens the door of Southern Hospitality to all who join us during our celebration

The highlights of the Festival are visiting our National Historic Site, The Miss Festival of Stars Pageant, which offers a Scholarship and crowns the Queens held in April annually and the huge, magnificent Fireworks celebration after dark! Other events include Art Exhibits, Craft vendors from all over the state, a Photography contest, Mother/Daughter Tea Party, various contests, smiles and memories!

Visitors from over 10 other states enjoyed the premier of the festival last year!

So go ahead….. mark your calendar for the 2014 SC FESTIVAL OF STARS!

Oh, and don’t forget to don your patriotism by dressing in red, white, and blue. You may even win a prize! Bring your blanket, your beach chair, your family, and prepare to stay for the two day event.

You may come into Ninety Six as a stranger….but you will leave as a friend.

The SC Festival of Stars is hosted by The Town of Ninety Six and would not be possible without the help our 96 Chamber of Commerce, 96 Police and Fire Departments, our hard-working crew at the Streets and Sanitation Department, the 96 CPW and all the employees of each department!
