Mayor Turner, has always been interested in the business affairs of the Town of Ninety Six. He first became involved in the early 1970’s as a council member. In 1982, he was elected Mayor and served a total of ten years. He was elected Mayor again and took office on January 1, 2008. Mayor Turner is now serving a four-year term which expires December 31, 2011.
Being a lifelong resident of Ninety Six, his emphasis has always been to promote our town’s historic values and see the downtown area become a thriving tourism center. Through his hard work, dedication and leadership, many ideas are coming to fruition. The mayor’s office and the town council is a team effort, and by working together as a team, their goal is to do what is best of the town and the residents of Ninety Six.
Mayor Turner has served on the Greenwood County Planning and Zoning Board, and also the Board of Zoning Appeals. This opportunity has given him insight into the value of having an organized plan for future development.

Mary Ann Goodman

Born in Greenwood, SC and grew up in Waterloo, Mary Ann attended Laurens County public schools and graduated from Limestone College with a degree in business. She also attended Piedmont Technical Collage where she majored in computer programming.
Mary Ann has lived in Ninety Six for thirty five years. The mother of three boys she became actively involved in the Ninety Six Schools where she served as a parent advisor to the school board and a host mentor.
After twenty years of employment as a textile worker Mary Ann changed careers. She is currently employed with the Town of Ninety Six as The Town Clerk. Previously, she served as a patient financial counselor with Abbeville hospital.
A member of Cambridge United Methodist Church, Mary Ann and husband Mickey work together as a Christian couple in various ministries within the church and community.

Born in Shelby, NC and grew up in North Augusta, SC Todd has lived in Ninety Six for 12 years and really loves the town. He became active in politics to help the town grow and become as great as it can be. Todd is active in the Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church where he is a member. He plays music for the Church along with teaching the Wednesday night boy’s class. Todd is also an active volunteer for the Ninety Six Fire Department. Todd is the chairperson for the Buildings and Maintenance Committee and serves on the Public Safety Committee, New Buildings Committee, Planning Committee and also Chaired the New Web Site Committee.
Elliott Richardson

Many people want to give back to the community the blessings they received while growing up. Elliott Richardson of Ninety Six is such a person. When he was elected to ward 6 of Ninety Six Town Council in 1995, his main goal was to give something back; “to be a light for the community”.
Elliott is in his forth term as councilman for ward 6. As a member of Town Council, he is the chairman of The Street and Sanitation Committee.
Elliott was born and raised in Ninety Six and a graduate of Ninety Six High School. He attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC where he played baseball and basketball. He left at an early age and spent many years in California returning to Ninety Six in 1988.
He served 26 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the military, he attended Sacramento State University. While in California, Elliott was a high school and college sports official. Sports are also his hobbies.
Elliott has been involved in the Ninety Six Historical Development Association as a director and is a member of the Enoree Zion Baptist Church where he serves on the Trustee Board.
