Welcome to the Historic Kinard House which is a designated treasure and listed on the National Historic Registry.   This Victorian Era home is filled with history, comfort and Southern Hospitality!

Built in 1885 by local farmer and businessman Henry Jefferson Kinard, the home was constructed  in a way that would surely withstand time.   It was built with lumber from nearby forests and features immaculate hardwood floors and a beautiful walk-in closet that is made completely of cedar.

Decorative fireplaces, French doors, and a soaring, wooden staircase welcome you as you enter this humble abode-all of which are original to the home.  There are also 2 large foyers that engulf you with their warm heritage.  As you step into The Kinard House, you will truly step back into time.  Antiques and collectibles fill this warm and inviting home, which has been lovingly renovated.  You can relax and leave the world behind as you soak in the large clawfoot tub in the upstairs bath.  Sunshine fills the room and your worries will just melt away.

This home is located in the Historic Town of Ninety Six:  a pre-revolutionary war back-country settlement in South Carolina.  The Carolina Wren, our state bird, can often be spotted from a the large back porch and garden area of this home.  Hummingbirds, butterflies and the occassional rabbit have also been known to fly or scamper by.

Another focal point and memory of days gone by is the bee-hive oven-which is located on the beautiful back lawn. Large wooden swings will accomodate you on the front and back porches as you cuddle up with your favorite book or watch the sun rise…..or set.  One may even choose to bring a blanket and have a picnic on the lawn.

The Breasbois family, now owners of The Kinard House, generously share their lovingly restored home with you.  Rooms may be reserved by the day, the week, or even months at a time.  You see, this home is more that just a bed and breakfast…….it’s your home away from home.

The Kinard House can also accomodate and help you plan meetings, receptions, bridal showers, baby showers, and honeymoon/anniversary/valentine get-a-ways! * The spacious lawn as well as the inside of the  home may be utilized and booked for your very special occassion*
